Barn-ey

Ok, I seem to be stuck on barns now.  Thats ok.  Barns make a great thing to paint.  I am trying to work on letting colors mix on the paper, and on scratching in tree trunks, or highlights from branches.  I think i hit the mark on the first, and missed on the second.  Well, at any rate there are some good things about his little picture.  I still think I am gonna go back and paint in a horse or cow or two onto this painting, but in general, I'm satisfied with it.

fluffy bunny

This one was a bit hard.  How to convey grass and flowers close up, how to do it in the background and how to keep the bunny bright and the focal point.   I think I got the bunny good enough, I think i got the foreground flowers good enough, I only wish i could figure out how to do the background a little better.  Tried to make it a bit darker to set it off, maybe that wasn't the best idea.  Hmmm, have to think about this one for a minute.

Mailbox and Barn

Ok, so I've been working on barns lately.  They are nice because they are big structures with some angled roofs, and if you don't get the proportions right, or the lines straight, it doesn't matter.  Your mind says, Hey its a barn, it could be that way.  Well I decided to incorporate a mailbos into this one.  Also, I tried to do a little scratching in of weeds in the foreground.  I think I'll revisit this one at a later date, but for now, I think its a good start.

Barn 2

Here is another barn.  Similar to the last one, but just a bit different.  I think I like this one better.  Or maybe it is that I just like the pine trees better.  Well, at any rate, this is the next iteration of the barn.  Enjoy.

Barn in a Field

I think I'm getting closer to something really good.  This one has elements that I really like, but I don't think I'm quite there.  Gonna keep at it.

Somewhere deep in the heart of Utah

I really was trying to get some splashing in the water on this painting.  The picture had almost clear water showing the red riverbed below.  I think I got some of that, plus a little bit of the waterfall.  I tried a few different things here, and think they came out ok for a  first try.  The concave wall on the RHS didnt turn out quite like I wanted, but.... Well sometimes thats how it works out.  Enjoy.

Rocky 2

This painting for sale.  7 1/2 x 11  $15
I'm not sure which one of the two of these is better.  I think I like the first one better, but I am not fully convinced.  This Rock got a bit cluttered, but I like the sand a little better.  The other sky, i think is a bit better...   Hmmm, well, I guess its in the eye of the beholder.  Hope you like this one too.
