Rocky 2

I'm not sure which one of the two of these is better.  I think I like the first one better, but I am not fully convinced.  This Rock got a bit cluttered, but I like the sand a little better.  The other sky, i think is a bit better...   Hmmm, well, I guess its in the eye of the beholder.  Hope you like this one too.

Morro Rock

Continuing with the theme of painting things from around the area, here is one of Morro Rock.  Well, part of Morro Rock anyway.  Please enjoy.

That same Monterrey Cypress, only a little different

First off, let me apologize for the poor image and the blue painters tape.  This painting is too large for my scanner, so I had to take a photograph.

That being said, i think i did a fairly good job with this.  The tree looked great when I was painting, but it could be a bit fuller.  If I were to do it again......  But the stump at the left looks much more forward than yesterdays.  I like this one too.  Maybe I'll stick with these trees for a while.

Monterrey Cypress 2

Here is the second part of the Monterrey Cypress series of paintings.  I think I will continue them next week as well.  I think this one turned out fantastically and am charged up to do another one. Hope you all enjoy it.

Monterrey Cypress 1

If you are not lucky enough to live in an area that has these trees, you are missing something.  They totally look like the wind is blowing on them all the time, and it is all they can do to stand up.  They get these fantastic long branches on them, and their trunks and branches branch and bend at crazy angles.  Anyway, I thought it would be fun to paint them.  I rather like the way the middle trees turned out.  I definitely will be trying to do a few more of these.  Check back for them

Still Trying

Found a tutorial on line about how to paint this picture.  The tutorial came out a lot better, but I think I gave it a good go.  If you remember several months back, I painted this same picture from the same tutorial.  I think this one came out better.  I guess if I keep at it, and paint this one a dozen more times, i just might get a great one.  Enjoy
